Some of you know that I have gone through a bit of a transformation this past 12 months. Even though my running has been a great physical and mental release for me since I turned 50, I since suffered badly with sore feet (plantar fasciitis – very painful) that prevented me from running as regularly as I wanted, or needed. The weight started coming back and I was not a happy bunny – didn’t like who I was becoming and had no motivation for anything in my life – my business, my job, my well-being.
This time last year I made a decision to shake myself out of my slump and was ready to go back to weight watchers (for the 3rd time!) to try again. A lunchtime chat with one of my work friends sent me down a completely different path and I am a much, much happier human because of her – thanks Angie!! It was so much easier than I expected and I so enjoyed the process.
The goal was to fit into a dress I bought for my niece’s wedding in Italy in September. So I bought two dresses I wanted to wear – WAY too small – and hung them in my bedroom. I saw them every day before I ate, when I did my workout, before I went to sleep. 3 months into my new life, I had lost inches and pounds, was sleeping better, had so much more energy, and got my mojo back!
Well it’s high time I shared my transformation with ALL of you. Everyone is stuck at home because of COVID-19 and have dabbled with YouTube workouts, or blown the dust of those workout DVDs that have never been used. Being stuck at home this long and hearing how so many are just so down gave me the push to share what worked for me – following a progressive program from start to finish and finally getting on board with the right nutrition. I’ve stepped it up to the next level and signed up as an online health & fitness coach – I know, shocker!!
